Mr. William DOO was bestowed with the distinction of Officer in the National Order of the Legion of Honour by Mr. Alexandre GIORGINI, Consul General of France in Hong Kong and Macau, at a ceremony held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on 27 May 2022.

Mr. DOO is the founder and current president of FSE Holdings, as well as the non-executive vice-chairman of New World Development, one of Hong Kong’s largest conglomerate in the real estate and services sectors. M. DOO also played a key role in the creation of Sino-French Holdings, a joint-venture launched in 1992 between New World and Suez.

M. DOO was appointed Knight in the Order of Arts and Letters in 2004 for his role in the promotion of French culture as a long-time supporter of Le French May Arts Festival. He was also appointed Knight in the National Order of the Legion of Honour in 2008 for his contribution to the strengthening of links of friendship and cooperation between France and Hong Kong.

Reflecting his commitment to the dynamism of the bilateral relation between France and Hong Kong, M. DOO accepted the role of Hong Kong co-president of the Hong Kong-France Business Council, whose French co-president is Mr. Jean LEMIERRE, Chairman of BNP Paribas. This partnership was given a new impulse under Mr. DOO’s leadership with the signing of a memorandum of understanding between MEDEF International and the Hong Kong Trade and Development Council in 2021.

Mr. DOO was promoted to the rank of Officer in the National Order of the Legion of Honour in recognition of his unwavering commitment to serving the community and e developing economic and cultural relations between France and Hong Kong.
