Peter WOO was decorated with the insignia of "Officier dans l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres" at a ceremony at the Residence of France on 19 November 2020.

In 2019, he was one of the first to commit support to the Opera of Paris as part of a project of international outreach and partnership with Asia, paving the way for the establishment of an important circle of major patronage in Hong Kong patrons. France is grateful for his exceptional support.
Born in Shanghai, Mr. Woo attended St. Stephen’s College in Hong Kong. He graduated in physics and mathematics from the University of Cincinnati in Ohio and also holds an MBA from Columbia Business School.
From 1993 to 1997, he was the President of the Hong Kong Polytechnic School and Chairman of the Hong Kong Environment and Conservation Fund Committee, which he co-financed with the Hong Kong government. From 1995 to 2000, he was the Chairman of the Hong Kong Hospital Authority. From 2000 to 2007, Mr. Woo was the Chairman of the Hong Kong Trade Development Board, which has more than 40 offices outside Hong Kong.
