100 recipients of the Légion d’Honneur Scholarship will study in France this summer
Thanks to an equal financial support from the Légion d’honneur Club Hong Kong Chapter and the Consulate General of France in Hong Kong and Macao, the number of scholarship students have been increased from 80 in 2011 to 100 in 2012.
On Monday 11 June 2012, a cocktail reception was organized at the French Residence in the honour of the Grand Chancellor of the Legion of Honour, Chancellor of the National Order of Merit and Army General Jean-Louis Georgelin during his visit to Hong Kong.
The Consul General of France in Hong Kong and Macau, Mr Arnaud Barthèlemy, and General Georgelin paid tribute to the members of the Chapter, who equally cofinance the linguistic scholarship programme for local universities students.
This scholarship program runs since 2006 and helps to finance linguistic trips for students learning French. They will follow three weeks of intensive classes of FFL (French as a Foreign Language) in one of the linguistic centres holding the “Qualité français langue étrangère” label.
