Worldwide Innovation Challenge [fr]
On 18 April 2013, the President of the French Republic launched the Innovation 2030 Commission, chaired by Anne Lauvergeon and under the aegis of the Minister for Industrial Renewal and the Minister Delegate with responsibility for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, Innovation and the Digital Economy.
The Innovation Commission has defined 7 strategic goals:
- Energy Storage,
- Recyclaging of Metals,
- Development of Marine Ressources,
- Plant Proteins and Plant Chemistry,
- Personalised Medicine,
- The Silver Economy - Innovation in the Service of Longevity
- Big Data.
For each strategic goal, a Worldwide Innovation Challenge has been opened. The expected projects must be supported by individual company or consortia. The selected projects must show a strong potential for French economy (such as disruptive technology, major economic spinoffs on employment, exportation, etc.)
The selected project receive a financial subsidy which can reach 200 000€.
The program opens on the 2nd of December 2013. There will be intermediate closings on 30th of January 2014 and 31st of March 2014. The call of proposals ends when the goal of 100 selected projects has been reached.
Companies whose projects are selected will receive financial support in the form of grants of up to €200,000 per project.
