The Lunch Club is on - “Oui” care for a better Hong Kong
On March 21st 2015, the French Chamber celebrated the official launching of its charitable arm, the French Chamber Foundation and more specifically the opening of its first project - the Lunch Club.
Why the French Chamber Foundation?
The French Chamber Foundation is a project by the French business community to give back to the city that nurtured its prosperity.
Who are they?
The French Chamber Foundation Limited is a non-profit organization. A board of directors, placed under the leadership of Mr. Armen Ekmekdje, governs the Foundation and works in close relationship with its Honorary President, Mrs. Olivia Lo.
What is the Lunch Club?
Located in the heart of Wanchai, the Lunch Club welcomes low-income workers 5 days a week. It serves dietician-supervised meals for a low price of HK$10. The rest of the cost (around HK$30) is subsidised by the Foundation.
Moreover, the hotmeal canteen serves as an important entry point for social workers to connect with the Lunch Club members, identify their needs and help them make progress in their working career and consequently be able to improve their livelihood.
The Lunch Club is operated in partnership with Baptist Oi Kwan Social Service.
