The « Climate Change” Program of the Consulate general of France presented at the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Hong Kong (11.06.2015) [fr]
On Thursday 11th of June 2015, Isabelle Saves, Attaché for Scientific and Academic affairs, presented the key figures relative to climate change and the COP 21 issues to the members of « Green Business Committee » of the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Hong Kong.
Firstly, Isabelle presented key figures of the scientific results published, in 2013, by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPPC) in their Fifth Report, showing that the human activity is undoubtedly the dominant cause of the observed warming since the mid-20th century.
Secondly, Isabelle gave a few words about the COP21 issues and the advancement of the negociations.
To conclude her speech, she presented the program of events organised by the Consulate general of France in Hong Kong and Macao, entitled “Oceans, Rivers and Climate Change : When climate change makes waves…”
The scientific office of the Consulate general of France in Hong Kong and Macao dedicates its efforts to raise awareness to Hong Kong public on this topic, in order to ensure the achievement of COP21’s goal. Through this cooperative project, the French Consulate in Hong Kong wants to play an active role in the awareness of students, teachers from all departments, and the general public. A series of exhibitions, talks, lectures and educational activities are introducing these complex phenomena to the Hong Kong public from the 19th of April until the 11th of December.
