The 48th edition of Hong Kong French Film Festival unveils its program at the Hong Kong Arts Centre [fr]

Organized by the Alliance Française Hong Kong with the support of the Consulate of France in Hong Kong and Macau, the 48th French Film festival is going to run from 22 November to 10 December 2019 and present the best of French cinema. From the New Wave to the most recent animation films, the two programs of the festival, “Retrospective” and “Cine Panorama”, allow you to travel in the French seventh art.


Every year, the Alliance Française Hong Kong presents a selection of the latest and the very best films to offer the Hong Kong audience the foremost premieres of French cinema. The 48th edition will present the greatest masterpieces of 2019, documentaries and award-winning French animated films. Mr. Pierre-François Martin-Laval (Pef), director of Fahim, the Little Chess Prince will be the special guest this year. A screening of his film is scheduled for 23rd November at AMC Pacific Place at 3pm and will be followed by a talk with the public


The year 2019 also marks the 60th anniversary of the French New Wave, an emblematic period in the history of cinema. On this occasion, the most famous photographs of Raymond Cauchetier will be exhibited at the Hong Kong Arts Center from 7 to 24 November 2019. Thanks to this exhibition, you will realise how much Raymond Cauchetier hascontributed, through his artwork, to enter the French New Wave into the great History of the Cinema, a period remembered forever.
