Second edition of the Heritage Days in Hong Kong [fr]

With several local partners, the Consulate General launches the second edition of the European Heritage Days in Hong Kong, on September 18 and 19, 2021.

The Heritage Days are an important event in our cultural calendar. The third weekend of September is every year, in France and in Europe, dedicated to the development and the sensitization to the question of the heritage. Exceptional sites and private spaces open their doors to the general public. Young and old alike can discover the Elysée Palace, the National Assembly as well as castles, churches, ministries, hospitals, factories, theaters and museums, which offer activities and programs specially designed for the occasion. After a first edition in 2020, European Heritage Days are coming back to Hong Kong in 2021. This year, we are collaborating with the Chinese University of Hong Kong on the launch of an application called "Take on Hong Kong" (available in Google Play and App Store), which lists, in the form of an interactive map, the major heritage sites in the city. French paths have been specifically created to highlight French heritage on Hong Kong Island and in the Kowloon district and two places will be exceptionally open: Christ the King Chapel on Saturday 18th and Saint Joseph’s College, on Sunday 19th, with guided tours given by academics from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

With the organization of this second edition of the Heritage Days, we wish to continue to make everyone aware of the richness and cultural diversity of Hong Kong, through its buildings and traditions. The promotion and conservation of heritage, both tangible and intangible, is a mission that France is very keen to promote.

Guided tours are available by registration only, with a limited number of places. You can register now:
