" Science Rendez-Vous" on Trans-boundary Air Pollution (12/4/2016) [fr]

Prof. YIM Hung Lam Steve is an Assistant Professor of the Department of Geography and Resource Management, CUHK will animate the next "Science Rendez-vous" about "air pollution" organized by the scientific department of the Consulate General of France in Hong Kong and Macau, on Tuesday, April 12, 2016, from 7:30 pm to 9 pm, at the restaurant "Chez Patrick Deli " at BRIM28.

Trans-boundary air pollution is a crucial factor affecting air pollution, and its contribution may vary over the time and differ under various weather/climatic conditions. However, very few studies have comprehensively analyzed the spatio-temporal variations of trans-boundary air pollution. This talk will use Hong Kong and Singapore as examples to discuss the significant and special trans-boundary air pollution characteristics in high-density cities under various atmospheric conditions.

Prof. YIM Hung Lam Steve is an Assistant Professor of the Department of Geography and Resource Management, CUHK. Prof. Yim’s research aims to advance knowledge of the environmental impacts due to urban heat and air pollutant emissions, and to formulate mitigation measures to address these impacts. His current works focus on developing multi-scale model systems to simulate heat island effect, air ventilation and air pollution in urban areas, understanding micro-climate and air quality in street-canyons by measurement approaches, and studying the relationships between climate, air quality and land use through numerical modelling and statistical approaches.

Come and join “Science Rendez-vous” (in English) on air pollution, which will be animated by Prof. YIM Hung Lam Steve!
