Paris remains the best student city in the world [fr]

For the fourth consecutive year, Paris is ranked the highest international ranking QS Best Student Cities. This result is of particular resonance two weeks after the attacks.

"I am delighted to see Paris ranked for the fourth consecutive year at the top of the global university cities. After the terrible terrorist attacks, this city symbolizes victim, Paris is more than ever determined to defend every day its values of solidarity, of freedom and creativity. Because it is more solid bulwark that we can oppose the barbarism, because knowledge is the principle of openness to others! " says Thierry Coulhon, president of Paris Sciences et Lettres (PSL), in the press release announcing the ranking QS Best Student Cities, published Tuesday, December 1, 2015.


The QS Best Student Cities devotes, for the fourth consecutive year, Paris as the best student city in the world. The city ranks high on all the criteria.

The low tuition fee in the French capital makes it the second most financially affordable city for students in the top 5 of the rankings, while London is on this criterion in the last place (75th).

Paris is also the second city that has the most universities recognized worldwide, behind London. The most represented countries in the ranking, however, is the United States, with 11 cities, including Boston (13th) and New York (20th).
