Counting down one week to the start of Le French May 2018! Check out these highlighted events in May.
The Ballet Preljocaj will present us their version of the famous Chinese tale The Painting on the Wall, which plunges the reader into the fantastical world of Chinese tales and reveals the ‘supernatural’ power of the art of painting.
Nathalie Stutzmann is leading Orfeo 55, a celebrated French ensemble performing instrumental and vocal works of baroque and modern repertoires. The ensemble plays a range of 18th century baroque music featuring the Italian opera arias of Vivaldi and the French dances of Lully and Rameau.
Mozart wrote his fourth quartet at 17. The work is still full of innocence but bears the promise of more and more freedom in musical language. The concert is an invitation to a journey of colors, modes, textures and exotic rhythms that unheard before in the string quartet repertoire.
The Zaïde Quartet who will be performing for the concert was born 7 years ago and was soon followed by a series of successes in competitions. Their musical path has since well traveled and has brought this small reunion of four young women to the world, to practice a broad repertoire and to share their passion for chamber music with many remarkable musicians.
