Napoleon Year Closing Reception [fr]
On 15 November 2019, the Consulate General of France in Hong Kong and Macau hosted a reception in celebration of the French crafts industry, in order to close on a high note its campaign celebrating the 250th anniversary of the birth of Napoleon Bonaparte.
On this special occasion, delegations from the Hauts-de-Seine "department” (district council) located to the West of Paris, the Hauts-de-Seine "Chamber of Craftsmanship” and the "Best Craftsmen of France National Society" (Société nationale des Meilleurs ouvriers de France) visited Hong Kong to promote the French expertise in the crafts industry and Napoleon’s legacy in the Hauts-de-Seine.
One of the highlights of the event was the interactive performance featuring a hologram of Joséphine, Napoleon’s first wife, developed by Frédéric Gaudette (NOVAMOTION), “Best Craftsman of France” in the field of multimedia, and based on the book “Gourmet Conversations with Joséphine” authored by Michèle Villemur.
