"Nanas" by Niki de Saint Phalle now in Hong Kong [fr]
[Le French May] Launch of the festival "Le French May" and inauguration of the exhibition Niki de Saint Phalle in the presence of the Chief Executive of Hong Kong.
On Sunday 4 May took place the opening of the exhibition "Legend of the 20th century art : Niki de Saint Phalle" at Sha Tin Town Hall, in the presence of the Honourable Mrs Carrie LAM, Chief Executive of HKSAR, the Consul-General of France in Hong Kong and Macau Alexandre GIORGINI, the President of Hong Kong Jockey Club Anthony CHOW and the President of the Cultural Association France-Hong Kong Andrew YUEN.
Sculptor, painter and director, Niki de Saint Phalle is famous for her "Nanas" - giant sculptures of women, round and colorful, always represented in movement. Niki is known for her desire to take her works directly to meet the public on the street.
It is in the continuity of a major retrospective of her work presented in Beijing from November 2018 to March 2019 that nearly 100 pieces - including monumental sculptures outdoors - are shown in Hong Kong until 2 June.
