Mr Alain Juppé visited Hong Kong for the 4th edition of the “Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival”
Mr Juppé, Mayor of Bordeaux, presented as the Guest of Honor on November 1st, for the 4th edition of the “Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival” which took place in West Kowloon from November 1st to 4th 2012.
He first attended a press conference organized by the Consulate General of France in Hong Kong and Macau with Mr. Arnaud Barthèlemy, Consul General of France and Mr. Andrew Wong, Permanent Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development (Commerce, Industry and Tourism) of HKSAR government.
The Consul General emphasized on the special position of the Bordeaux wine in Hong Kong and in general how France shares its culture of food and wine through successful events like the French Gourmay, Vinexpo and the Wine & Dine Festival.

During the press conference, the Mayor of Bordeaux Mr. Juppé reminded the privileged relationship between Bordeaux and Hong Kong in the wine segment (Hong Kong is the first export market for the Bordeaux wine), as well as in other domains (food, tourism, culture).

Mr. Andrew Wong insisted on the scale of partnership between Bordeaux and the HK Wine & Dine Festival. He also expressed the interest on the development of durable relationships between the Bordeaux region and Hong Kong.
Mr. Goguet, President of Chamber of Commerce of Bordeaux and Mr. Haushalter, President of Bordeaux Wine Council then highlighted the importance of Bordeaux wine in both Hong Kong and global market.
After this press conference, Mr. Juppé was received by Mrs. Carrie Lam, Chief Secretary for Administration of HKSAR to explore ways of improving cooperation between the two cities.
