Movie- Debate : “How Corals are impacted by Climate Change” (8th of June 2015) [fr]

Because on the 8th of June is the Ocean’s Day, the Consulate General of France in hong Kong and Macao organises a Movie-Debate about the impact of pollution on corals.


The Movie "Juan de Nova, " will screened. Juan de Nova is an island lost in the immensity of the Indian Ocean between Africa and Madagascar. The island exists thanks to a coral reef that has slowly developed to form submerged land consisting of coral and sand. But what was seen during scientific mission was worrying as the coral was unhealthy. Why, and can the reef be saved.


After the movie screening, Nicolas Duprey, researcher at the Swire Institute of Marine Science (SWIMS) will presente his work on the impact of pollution on corals.


Then he will animate a debate on this thematic.

IRD and the SWIMS supported this event will take place Consulate General of France in Hong Kong and Macau, in SEGALEN room - 25/F , Tower II, Admiralty Centre, 18 Harcourt Road, Central, Hong Kong.

The event will begin 6:30pm and should end around 8:30pm.
