From 26 March to 15 April 2018, check out «HERE / NOT HERE», a cross-cultural photography exhibition featuring Hong Kong photographer Yan Kallen and French photographer Michel Eisenlohr on Hong Kong architectural landscape.
«HERE / NOT HERE» is a cross-cultural photography exhibition, featuring Hong Kong photographer Yan Kallen and French photographer Michel Eisenlohr who collaborated, over a period of 12 months, to develop new bodies of work, expressing their own particular vision of Hong Kong architectural landscape. The exhibition will consist of around 40 photographs exhibited over the two floors of the gallery.
In addition to the exhibition, the Department of Architecture jointly with The Center for the Study of Globalization and Cultures (CSGC) are hosting a half-day symposium entitled «The city and its double». The event offers an opportunity for scholars from both France and Hong Kong to engage in a cross-cultural and multidisciplinary dialogue around the city and its multiple interpretations. The debate will be articulated around a projection of the photographic work of the two artists and both will take part.
Yan Kallen is a Hong Kong photographer, exploring the concept of time and memory through his photographs of a city in constant mutation. His images, infused with personal narratives, challenge our perception, bluring the frontier between physical and imaginary landscapes and their respective spacial and temporal dimensions.
