Lingnan University and ESSCA jointly offer double master programme [fr]
A double master programme in corporate finance and international banking & finance will be jointly offered by Lingnan University (LU) and the French École Supérieure des Sciences Commerciales d’Angers (ESSCA). A signing ceremony was held on 26 November, on the basis of equality and mutual benefits.
The first cohort of the double-master degree programme in « Corporate finance and international banking & finance » will be admitted in September 2014. It is conceived on the basis of the Master in Corporate Finance of ESSCA and the Master in International Banking and Finance (MIBF) of LU. It will be completely taught in english. Both students of LU and ESSCA will be allowed to follow this double Master :
- Lingnan MIBF Students will spend their first academic semester at Lingnan to take at least 5 MIBF courses (including mandatory modules as specified), then spend an academic year at ESSCA (two academic semesters) and take required modules to meet the requirements of ESSCA. Then, they will move to Lingnan (or another authorized location by both parties) to continue their study for a final academic semester (which includes the completion of a master thesis and a 4 months’ internship, both to be validated by ESSCA) to meet the degree requirements/regulations.
- ESSCA Master (Corporate Finance major) Students will spend their first academic semester at ESSCA to take at least 5 ESSCA master courses (which are validated and approved by Lingnan MIBF programme), then spend an academic semester at Lingnan and take required modules to meet the requirements of Lingnan; they will then move to ESSCA (or another authorized location by both parties) to continue their study for a final academic year (two semesters, which includes the completion of required master courses, a master thesis and a 4 months’ internship, to be approved and validated by ESSCA) to meet the degree requirements/regulations.
After they have successfully completed all the required courses as stipulated in the Course Plan, finished an internship of 4 months at the minimum, and passed the thesis defense, students enrolled in the Programme will be awarded both the Master in Management (Corporate Finance major) by ESSCA and the MIBF Degree (Master of Science in International Banking and Finance) by Lingnan University.
