Intra corporate transfer (ICT) – Professional trainee and posted employee [fr]
It is mandatory to obtain an appointment online to apply for a visa. Application time slots are between 8:30 and 12:30 from Monday to Friday.
On scheduled interview, applicants must come in person with their passport and all original documents, with a complete set of photocopies. The Consulate won’t do any photocopies and it won’t be possible to complete your application later.
All documents submitted to the visa department have to be written in French or English. If not, they have to be accompanied by a certified translation.
The ICT visa (Intra Corporate Transfer) is relevant for employees of a foreign company, belonging to a group, who are posted to a company from the same group in France for a temporary assignment.
There are two categories of ICT visa:
ICT professional trainees: They participate in an intra-group trainee program. They sign a training agreement (Convention de stage,) approved by the Préfet in France. The trainee program can last between 3 and 12 months.
ICT posted employees: They participate in an intra-group transfer, as high-level managers or experts. They do not sign a work contract with the company in France and remain employed by the foreign company. The assignment can last between 3 months and 3 years.
Both ICT professionals (trainees and posted employees) can bring their families with them to France (spouse and children). Family members need to apply at the same time as the employee.
