Hong Kong Independent Film Festival from 25th of January to February 2nd of 2016 [fr]
The HK Independent film festival returns with a selection of distinguished arthouse flicks and thought-provoking screenings, from 25th of January to February 2nd of 2016.
The program is led by a focus on the seminal work of the late Chantal Akerman, Belgian film director and daughter of Holocaust survivors.
Movie selection includes Saute ma ville, La Chambre, Hotel Monterey, News from Home, le 15/18 and Je/tu/il/elle.
There’ll also be a spotlight on works surrounding the Umbrella Movement in Hong Kong, as well as resistance movements in the region.
Cinephiles who like Japanese films can look forward to screenings by Ryusuke Hamaguchi, particularly his latest release: The 317-minute-long drama “Happy Hour.” Hamaguchi will be in Hong Kong for Q&A sessions and a free film masterclass (entry with any Hamaguchi screening ticket stub) held after the screening of “Touching the Skin of Eeriness” (Jan 26).
