Hong Kong Book Fair: three French artists held creative workshops.
The French Consulate is grateful to have worked in cooperation with three talented French artists, Isabelle Demenge, Romain Jacquet-Lagrèze and Emilie Saint-Pé to set up creative and fun workshops.
Isabelle Demenge, author of creative travel scrapbooks "Leap and Hop", proposed a trip to Paris and Hong Kong to a young audience. With pedagogical games, she made the public present visit the most iconic sites of the city and discover French pastries. The children also enjoyed drawing their own flags and discovered some things about their own city, for instance about Hong Kong currency.
Emilie Saint-Pé is a french artist, living in Hong Kong, who wrote "Le français... C’est facile comme "Bonjour"! French... It’s as easy as ABC!". She held a joyful workshop to introduce the French language to a young public in a fun, dynamic and simple way. The children learnt how to intoduce themselves, to say hello and to count, thanks to a Memory game.
Romain Jacquet-Lagrèze, a French photographer, shared his passion with the public of the Hong Kong Book Fair. During a fascinating workshop, he talked about "Vertical Horizon" which shows the urban scenery of Hong Kong through low angle shots and about "Wild Concrete", which focuses on nature growing wildly in the most incongruous places of Hong Kong dense urban environment. He also explained his way of working and especially how long it takes him to find the best light before shooting. His talk was illustrated by a projection of his photographs.
