HKAPA Symposium & Cabaret Performance (20-22 Nov) [fr]
In celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA), the Academy will organize an international symposium titled: Asian Transformation - New Perspectives on Creativity and Performing Arts Education. Opened to the public for registration, the Symposium will host over 50 renowned international and local speakers, performers, and educators presenting a series of keynote addresses, roundtable discussions, and exciting performances including a cabaret which pays tribute to the greatest French singers.
Venue: Hong Kong Jockey Club Amphitheatre, HKAPA
Date: 20 - 22 November 2014 (Thu-Sat)
As a closing of the event, a spectacular performance of chanson / cabaret "Que Reste t’il" by the Australian singer Robyn Archer, accompanied by piano and accordion, will be opened to all public independant of the symposium activities.
The Francophile Robyn Archer, entitled Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French government in 2001, is recipient of the 2013 BEST CABARET PERFORMER in Australia’s prestigious Helpmann Awards. She will take the audience on a highly emotional, highly satirical journey through French song; from rarely performed material from Paris in the 1880s, through each decade to the 1970s. With wonderful musicianship from the trio, "Que Reste t’il" is moving, uplifting, captivating, and often very funny.
