French Cine-club at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University from September to December 2014. [fr]
In the framework of its minor in "European Studies", the "Department of English" of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University will present with the support of the Consulate and the Institut Français, a cycle of 4 French films titled "Around France in 4 Movies" from September to December 2014.
The screenings are open to all the students of the university and to the staff.
The fourth screening will be held on December 2 at 5:30pm with the film The Princess of Montpensier, historical drama by Bertrand Tavernier starring Mélanie Thierry and Gaspard Ulliel.
The documentary Set up the Plates by Paul Lacoste, about the Michelin-starred chef Michel Bras has been showed on November 11 at 6:30pm at the university.
For the second screening of the cine-club, Poly U showed on October 14, The Name of Love, political comedy by Michel Leclerc, with Sara Forestier and Jacques Gamblin .
The first screening was held on September 16 with the presence of Pr.Chu-Ren Huang, Dean of Faculty of Humanities, Dr. Isabelle Saves, Attaché for Scientific & Academic Affairs and Dr.Francisco Veloso, assistant professor at Poly U.
The critically acclaimed film The Artist by Michel Hazanavicius, winner of 5 Academy Awards including Best Film and Best Actor for Jean Dujardin did the opening of the cine-club.
