FAA - "Pique-nique à la française"

With hustle and bustle city life of Hong Kong, a relaxing day out on the beach is definitely a good choice. If food and beverage could be arranged and a good company of open-minded (French minded) people were there with you, it would be a very pleasant classy day!! April 27 (Sunday afternoon) was indeed an exceptional day: Pique-nique à la française on Repulse Bay!!

Despite the not very optimistic weather forecast on April 26, the event turned out to be a great success! a huge group of francophiles gathered on the Repulse Bay, enjoying the pique-nique organized by French Alumni Asociation (FAA), a non-profit making association, attached to the French Consulate with the only aim to promote French culture in Hong Kong.

It was a beautiful day with soft breeze. The participants were composed of local French-speaking Hong Kongers, those in love with French language and culture, French nationals and those who somehow have association with France. A special guest of Apple Daily came to interview us to understand our passion and love towards France!! Staff of the Consulate were also there to support the event!!!

After a toss of chilled white wine, saucisson was passed around, plateau de fromage, rillettes, fruits, chips were served at your will. Macarons then came and all the festive atmosphere and laughers echoed here and there. What a chic French style of savoir-vivre!! We all enjoyed a lot!

Yet, pique-niques are only organized twice a year, avoiding sweaty days of summer and cold wind of winter!! Be patient till November!! More details and other events: www.faa-hk.com
