Exhibition for discovering M+ [fr]
M+, Hong Kong’s future new museum of visual culture, and The West Kowloon Cultural District Authority (WKCD) is presenting Building M+: The Museum and Architecture Collection .
Opening its doors today to the public, Building M+: The Museum and Architecture Collection is a milestone exhibition that presents the design and on-going development of the M+ building, which is set to complete in late 2017! The exhibition is also an inaugural showcase of the growing M+ Architecture Collection, displaying over 100 works and material that ranges from architectural models, drawings, photographs, installations, videos and other apparatuses that M+ has acquired in the last ten months.
The exhibition features works by important architects, firms and artists from Hong Kong, mainland China, and several international practitioners including Chung Wah Nan, Tao Ho, Eric Lye Kum-chew, Jackson Wong Chack-sang, Rocco Yim, Atelier FCJZ (Yungho Chang), Ai Weiwei, JIAKUN ARCHITECTS (Liu Jiakun), MAD (Ma Yansong, Dang Qun, Yosuke Hayano), OPEN Architecture (Li Hu and Huang Wenjing), Urbanus, Studio Pei-Zhu, Frank Lloyd Wright, Paul Rudolph to Steven Holl, Bernard Tschumi, and Office for Metropolitan Architecture (Rem Koolhaas and Elia Zenghelis).
The show is also featuring resonant works drawn from the museum’s visual art holdings, including pieces by Cao Fei, Andreas Gursky, Aernout Mik and Stanley Wong aka anothermountainman.
