It is with great pleasure and honor for us to announce the establishment of a very important, exciting and esteemed International Institute - Les Lumières de Paris, Hong Kong Chapter this month, bringing beautiful cultural and know-how exchange and knowledge between Hong Kong and Paris.

The institute was founded since 2018 by Honorary Founder, Senator of Paris, France - Madame Catherine Dumas, and Chairman of Vieux Paris Commission/former Mayor of Paris 1er arrondisement – Monsieur Jean-François LeGaret. The other founders include Monsieur Oliver de Tilère, Vice President of the institute and Monsieur Alain Caradeuc, Secretary General of the institute. “We want to promote Paris, the city of lights in France which offers the most refined and best know-how in many facets to our exclusive friends all over the world” as shared by Madame Catherine Dumas and Mr. LeGaret. Some top supporters of the institute include Monsieur Laurent de Gaulle, grand-nephew of General Charles de Gaulle, Monsieur Jean-Jacques Aillagon, former Minister of Culture and communications, Monsieur Alain Malraux and other top achievers and leaders in the refined and elite society.

The Hong Kong chapter, led by Mrs. Wendy SIU, Officer Knight of the National Order of Merit of France, President of Les Lumières de Paris Hong Kong Chapter, is supported by our Honorary Patron, Mr. Alexandre Giorgini, Consul General of France, Hong Kong & Macao, and Honorary Member Mr. Henry Tang GBM GBS JP.

The institute had officially launched successfully on 23rd September 2021, with the elegant reception hosted by Mr. Alexandre Giorgini at his residence at 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. with Mrs. Wendy SIU explain the details of the Hong Kong Chapter, and the Four Founders from Paris joining us real time via videoconferencing. All our influential board members, steering committee members, honorary advisors and members had joined us to witness this happy occasion that evening. (Kindly please refer to our brochure for related chapter member details)

“The mission of our institute is to promote Friendship and Cultural Exchange between Hong Kong and Paris, the two major cities in China and France” stated by Mrs. Wendy SIU, “and we aim to bring the world closer through this elegant cultural exchange platform through beautiful friendship, people and know-how” added by Wendy SIU.

Same with our headquarters in Paris, our Hong Kong chapter is formed on a non-political and non-commercial basis. We are the first overseas chapter established to be followed by the rest of the key cities in mainland and rest of Asia. The nature of our institute is to remain rather exclusive, cultural and elegant. The platform entails two-way visits between Paris, and of course other parts of France can be included, complimented by unique local French activities selectively organized by our elite team leaders from the designated fields promoted by our institute in Hong Kong. The five areas of promotion covers the full spectrum of the French Art of Living, including (i) Arts & Culture, (ii) Luxury Know-How & Craftsmanship, (iii) Design & Architecture, (iv)Gastronomy & Wine, and (v) Heritage/Family Legacy. Our membership is strictly by Invitation only

Our institute is supported by the Consulate General of France locally in Hong Kong, and we also work with top public and private institutes in France including, The Senate of France (Sénat), The National Assembly (National Assemblée), SMLH- Society of the Members of the Legion d’Honneur (Legion of Honorary Knighthood of France) and The French Minister of Foreign Affairs (Quai D’Orsay), the Minister of Culture.
