Resumption of Visa Services

Following the end of the lockdown period in France and the progressive re-opening of border in most Schengen countries, the Visa department of the Consulate General of France in Hong Kong will partially resume its service on Monday 22 June. Applicants can now take an appointment for 22 June and beyond on our FRANCE VISAS appointment module.

This restart of service will, at first, only concern the following visas :

- STUDENTS (Short & Long Stay),

- PROFESSIONALS (Short & Long Stay), domestic helpers excluded

- FAMILY VISAS (Long Stay),

- RETURN VISAS (for holders of LONG STAY VISAS and RESIDENCE PERMIT expiring after 15 June 2020).

If you are not concerned by any of the above categories, please don’t take an appointment as it would not be considered as valid.

Please also note that social distancing will apply within the Visa premises, and wearing a facemask is mandatory.

As always, be on time in order to secure your appointment.

You may experience a slightly longer than usual wait within the visa premises.

Precautionary measures at the Consulate General

For those who need to access the Consulate general, service hours remain unchanged:
- from Monday to Friday: 8:30am to 12:30pm
- only on Wednesdays: also from 2pm to 4:30pm

Please note that:

  • A temperature screening is mandatory for all visitors wishing to access the Consulate General. Members of the public with a temperature exceeding 37.7°C (adults) or 38°C (children) will be denied entry to the waiting room.

In case of urgent applications, special arrangements will be made accordingly.

  • All visitors are required to wear a face mask (such as a surgical mask) before entering the Consulate General. Access can be denied to visitors without a mask.
