Consulate General of France - 1st Consulate Partner of Project WeCan [fr]

The Consulate General of France in Hong Kong and Macau has become the 1st Consulate Partner of Project WeCan, a business-in-community programme organized by the Wharf group to offer care and opportunities for the less-privileged students in Hong Kong.

The Project WeCan Phase 2 Grand Launch took place at Marco Polo Hong Kong Hotel on 30 September 2014, with the Consul General of France in Hong Kong and Macau, Mr. Arnaud Barthèlemy, giving a speech after the Founding Patron of the project, Mr. Peter Woo. Over 450 guests including project partners as well as representatives from the participating schools attended the reception.

As a business-in-community programme, the Phase 2 of Project WeCan has attracted 14 corporate, consulate and university partners to join, supporting a total of 44 schools with students who are disadvantaged in learning. The Consulate General of France in Hong Kong and Macau is honoured to be the first Consulate Partner of the project. We will be supporting the T.W.G.Hs. Yow Kam Yuen College for the following year, through various student activities like a visit at the Consulate General, educational events like workshops and meet-the-artist sessions during Le French May, complimentary tickets of performances and exhibitions of Le French May offered to the students, etc.
