Congratulations to Joseph Lau Shu-Lai, finalist from Hong Kong for Dictée de Bernard Pivot in China in March 2017 [fr] [中文]

Eleven candidates from different higher institutions gathered at the consulate general of France in Hong Kong and Macao on February 25, 2017 and competed for the championship in the Hong Kong round for Dictée de Bernard Pivot 2017 in China. The competition took place at the consulate in presence of the sponsor TV5Monde, professors and students from the University of Hong Kong, Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Baptist University and Alliance Francaise Hong Kong. All participants demonstrated a astoundingly high level of French language.

Champion of the Hong Kong Round of this French-language competition goes to Joseph LAU Shu-Lai, who is one of the candidates representing University of Hong Kong. He would be representing Hong Kong Special Administrative Region to participate at the final round of « la Dictée de Pivot », in Beijing on March 20 this year.

As a winner of the Hong Kong round selection, Joseph LAU Shu-Lai is awarded a one-year subscription to TV5 monde channel generously offered by the partner TV5Monde of this competition.

The 2nd prize goes to IP Wing Yan, a university student of European Studies in the French Stream at Hong Kong Baptist University. She is awarded a French course at Alliance Francaise de Hong Kong for free by Head of Studies of Alliance Francaise de Hong Kong, Ms Johanne Théfaine.

The 3rd prize, which is two tickets to the French pop concert « La Femme » on March 9, goes to YU Yuet Sze Claudia, a university student at University of Hong Kong, and also KWOK Hoi Yan, a university student of European Studies in the French Stream at Hong Kong Baptist University. They have attained the same marks and thus each of them will gain entry to the concert.

These four winners of the competition at Hong Kong Round of Dictée de Pivot will be invited to an official award ceremony on March 9 at the Residence of the Consul general of France in Hong Kong.
