Double Diploma " CentralSupélec HKUST" reception on March 16, 2016 [fr]
As part of the agreement signed on March 17, 2016, between the School of Engineering of the University of Science and Technology of Hong Kong (HKUST) and CentraleSupélec, a leading French Engineer School, a reception was organized on the March 16 evening at the French residence.
Around 40 alumni from the French engineering school took part to the launching celebration of this new collaboration.
The celebration started with a speech delivered by Mr. Eric Berti, the Consul General , about the fruitful collaboration established over the years between French and Hong Kong in term of Scientific and academic cooperation, followed by Professor Marc Zolver, Dean of International Affairs & Partnerships of CentraleSupélec, who explained the partnership strategy of his school.
Hong Kong is one of the most interesting regions to explore in order to build new partnerships. Exactly one year ago, Hong Kong was the first destination visited by the delegation in charge of international affairs of CentraleSupélec born from the merging of the Ecole Centrale Paris and Ecole Supélec engineering schools in January 1, 2015.
The academic excellence of these two institutions and all advantages brought by this new agreement, including a dual Master degree, were extensively discussed. A particular focus in this bilateral exchange was highlighted in order to show students from France and Hong Kong that they will now be able to live, for at least one year, in the country of their counterparts. Having studied abroad is nowadays fully recognized as an essential asset in this increasingly globalize world and this agreement shows, once again, the strong desire for both parties to pursue their international expansion.
