In order to promote European culture and natural environment, the European Union Office to Hong Kong Macao will continue to produce its annual desktop calendar containing drawings from local primary school children, and the members states are invited to send representatives to their school in the week of 14-18 September to participate.

Madam Servane Gandais, attaché for Educational & Linguistics Affairs of the French Consulate, was invited to attend the allocated school for France, Yaumati Kaifong Association Primary School, and made a presentation regarding the French culture as well as climate change to pupils of the school on 15 September.

A drawing competition will be launched in four participating schools soon. The 17 winning drawings, representing each of the 17 member states represented in Hong Kong, will be included in the annual desktop calendar that is sent to over 3,000 government officials, and local partners. The competition will be organised in association with four local schools, the NET section of the Education Bureau of the Hong Kong SAR government, and participating MS. An award ceremony will be organised for the winners at one of the schools.
