On November 13-16, 2018, Business France – the national agency supporting the international development of the French economy, will be supporting 88 French exhibitors, almost 30% of which are new exhibitors, at two cosmetic arenas in Hong Kong: 73 cosmetics companies at French Pavilion & 6 companies in “French Buzz” area at Cosmoprof Asia; 9 ingredient, packaging and private label suppliers at Cosmopack Asia.

Business France (as the organizer) will be announcing the 3 winners of French Cosmetics Awards (4th edition) on November 13th to honor those French brands that never cease to develop their natural formulas and focus on technological innovation. (https://events-export.businessfrance.fr/fca)

Quotes from Caroline Escudier, the representative from French Pavilion organizer - Business France:

“Why is the French Pavilion attracting more and more visitors each year?

The reasons behind have always been straightforward – the great diversity and dependability that typify the French cosmetics industry. With its presence at both exhibition sites, the French Pavilion is the 2nd largest European pavilion, after Italy’s. Driven by their creativity, the exhibiting French companies, including the newly founded ones, are primed to meet the requirements of Asian consumers. Indeed, Cosmoprof’s French Pavilion will have 24 new exhibitors, accounting for more than a third of the delegation.

In a highly competitive market craving for niches and extremely high-quality products, French firms take pride in their high-end expertise across the industry as their unique strength. From ingredients to finished products, private labels to cosmetics packaging, and skin care to spa lines, French manufacturers offer a huge array of high-end goods and services. At the 2 blocks at Cosmopack in Hall 6G, visitors will find our luxurious Wellness & Spa offering which places a focus on sea-based products. Meanwhile, the French Buzz area is still as popular as usual. Its convenient location stimulates visitor traffic within the pavilion.

The French Cosmetics Awards is held for the 4th consecutive year in 2018. What impact do they have?

11 nominees have been selected by a jury panel of industry professionals each year. 3 winners will be awarded on the eve of the fair. The cocktail reception that follows the French Cosmetics Awards ceremony hosts around 120 people, including members of the jury, sponsors, exhibitors and journalists. The ceremony receives a great deal of exposure in the local press and on web blogs. We receive coverage in trade magazines, generate thousands of views on Youtube and create a real buzz on social media. The wide media coverage is not only beneficial to the winners, but also to the Pavilion’s exhibitors. This is one of the reasons why the number of visitors of the event continues to rise over the years.

How involved in the event are the sponsors and partners?

As the credibility of the event is growing year by year, we are fortunate enough to have a number of sponsors, including Hengcheng, Beautéville, Ming’s Beauty, Ouzhimeng, and Renaissance Harbour View Hotel, which will be hosting the ceremony of the 2018 Awards the day before the fair begins. Our Chinese and Hong Kong-based partners, not to mention the jury members of French Cosmetics Awards, add an extra professional dimension to the awards.

France, the traditional spearhead of the international cosmetics industry, is home to around 1,000 companies within the industry. With their presence in 200 countries, they account for a quarter of the global export market. Although “Made in France” has been a trademark of quality and dependability, this solid foundation will serve a springboard for further resources to be invested in the country. BCI supports 8 companies in Bretagne (Brittany), Cosmed 16 companies and Dev’up and Cosmetic Valley 7 apiece. For the first time, the Hauts de France region will have its own contingent. This regional support is crucial in showcasing the gems in the French Buzz area, a veritable shop window for the sector’s vibrant research activities and creativity. 6 entities will be presenting not only their latest technological innovations at the stand, but also their creativity in terms of concepts, textures, images, target markets, bottling, etc. Their specificity comes in perfect alliance with traditional beauty rituals, local, natural ingredients and cutting-edge research expertise.
