Business France: 7th Edition of French Tech Tour China Discover Opportunities for French Technologies in China Market [中文]
Business France and Bpifrance are once again joining forces to organize the 7th edition of the French Tech Tour China (FTT). This two-week immersion program from November 26 to December 7 in China’s main innovation hubs (Shanghai, Shenzhen-Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Chengdu and Beijing) has enabled FTT laureates to discover the Chinese market and seize opportunities for technological and commercial collaboration. On Nov 30, the Hong Kong station for French Tech Tour China was a huge success at the presence of Mr. Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, Minister of State attached to the French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs.
This year, the FTT teams focus on two major themes that are the digital (Internet, Fintech, Telecommunications, audiovisual, IoT-M2M, design and manufacture of electronic equipment, artificial intelligence and big data) and the Energy Transition (New mobility, renewable energy, storage, smart grids, energy efficiency ...). A jury of French and Chinese experts evaluated all the applications on specific criteria like the degree of innovation, the product - market adequacy and their abilities to be "China ready", and 15 winners are selected to participate in the French Tech Tour China.
With the aim of enabling these innovative companies to gain a better understanding and to validate their strategy in this complex market, this program brought participants to Hong Kong on November 30th at the HKSTP @Wheelock Gallery, for a pitch session followed by a networking event in collaboration with Hong Kong Science & Technology Parks Corporation, as City Partner in Hong Kong.
Mr Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, Minister of State attached to the French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, gave a closing speech at the French Tech Tour China 2018, to promote French attractiveness. On the same day on 30 November 2018, Mr. Lemoyne inaugurated the new campus of the French International School in Tseung Kwan O with the Chief Executive of Hong Kong, met with government officials and visited public facilities, deepening cooperation with Hong Kong.
