A French mathematician awarded with the "Breakthrough Prize in Mathematics" [fr]

The "Breakthrough Prize in Mathematics" is a new prize awarded for the first time this year which celebrate scientists and generate excitement about the pursuit of science as a career.


One of the 5 first awarded is the French mathematician Maxim Kontsevitch, for his work which has a strong effect on several fields in mathematics, among which algebraic geometric, deformation theory, topology symplectic, etc... Mr Kontsevitch has already been awarded several time with Shaw prize in mathematics and the " Breakthrough Prize in Physics" in 2012.
