Organized by the Consulate General of France in Hong Kong and Macao and the Alliance Française of Hong Kong, in partnership with the Bayard Presse Asia group, official sponsor of the DELF graduation ceremony, TV5 Monde and Kaiguan Culture, a ceremony was held on March 9th (Thursday) at the Résidence de France in Hong Kong and Macao. It was to celebrate these two emblematic events of the promotion of the French language in Hong Kong as a part of the Francophonie celebration.
The ceremony started with our Consul General, Mr. Eric Berti’s speech in which he congratulated the winners for their excellent results in the DELF exams. Mr. Berti also congratulated the excellent students and their impressive results on the Hong Kong selection of the Pivot 2017 Dictation in China.
Mr Attié, Director of the Alliance Française Hong Kong, then emphasized the importance of DELF certifications in recognition of French language. He stressed that the number of certifications awarded has been on the rise since its establishment in 1986.
Ms. Tatiana Joly, Deputy Director of the Bayard Presse Asia Group, sponsor of the ceremony, also emphasized the French language and the benefits of learning it. She added that each winner would be awarded a copy of a magazine and a subscription to each partner institution so as to celebrate their success.
Two brilliant students, Rachel Jessie TSENG and Siddharta DATTA took the floor to share their own journey in learning French.
