Le French May cinema programme, "French Shadows, all eyes on China" will end on Saturday, May 31 with two exclusive screenings of the second official Franco-Chinese coproduction "The Nightingale" by Philippe Muyl.
Le French May cinema programme, "French Shadows, all eyes on China" will end on Saturday, May 31 with two exclusive screenings of the Franco-Chinese film The Nightingale : 5:30pm @ Palace IFC and 9:30pm @ Broadway Cinematheque.
The two screenings will be followed by a sharing session with Philippe Muyl, director of Kitchen and Addictions (1993), The cow and the president (2000) and The Butterfly (2002).

In order to keep a promise he made to his wife, Zhu Zhi Gen prepares to return with his wife’s caged bird, the sole companion of her final years, to her native village where he’ll set the bird free. He’d decided to make this trip alone, but Ren Xing, his granddaughter, a spoiled little city girl, is forced to go with him.
During this journey to the outer reaches of traditional China and through magnificent landscapes, these two people who share nothing in common open up to each other, sharing memories and adventures.Ren Xing will discover new values, particularly those related to the heart.
