Nov 28 - Dec 7 : Poitiers Film Festival - focus on Chinese-language cinema [fr]

For its 37th edition which will be held from November 28 to December 7, the Poitiers Film Festival (formerly Rencontres Henri Langlois) the international film schools festival, highlights Chinese-language cinema through six schools from Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Taiwan. More than the current geopolitics, the festival will focus on cinema in its diversity and fruitfulness.


Hong Kong will be represented by two universities with 6 short films:

Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA)
For Love, We Can by Lam Chi-lung - fiction, 47 min, 2014.
Circle Monkey by Ren Xia fictionn - fiction, 33 min, 2012.
Leaving To Stay by Sia Sze Ying & Yang Yu Fei - fiction, 14 min, 2011.


The Chair of School of Film and Television, Mr. Kenneth Ip will make the trip to Poitiers with Mr. Ding Yuin Shan, senior lecturer in film production and two filmmakers Mr. Lam Chi Lung and Mr. Ren Xia.

M. Man Shu Sum, Associate Director of the Academy of Film will be in Poitiers for the festival with two filmmakers Ms. Norris Yee Lam Wong and M. Jian Boyang.
