Organized by the Ecole Centrale de Nantes under the leadership of its LHEEA laboratory, the European Conference on Marine energy of waves, tides and currents will bring together 500 researchers from around the world to present their latest developments for the support of marine energy.

First edition in France, Nantes

This scientific conference is held every two years in one of the major European city since 1993, will settled in Nantes this year. Next edition will be held in Cork, Ireland.

During this 4-day conference, three hundred scientific presentations are delivered in 60 sessions on various themes.

Beyond technological issues, all aspects will be considered by researchers who plan to give their views on the energy resource available in ocean, in the environmental and biological impacts of these new offshore installations, on problems created by the installation of these generators, and to the economic generated using this new source of renewable energy.

The conference is only open to professionals, engineers, scientists and academics around the world, but teams of students and professors from the LHEEA Laboratory (Ecole Centrale de Nantes and CNRS), specialists and pioneers of these issues in the world have organized in the “Cité des Congrès » an educational exhibition open to the public. There, they explain the principles of the renewable energy of the ocean. All people are welcome from 1:00 pm to 05 :30 from Sunday 6th to Wednesday 10th of September.
